This manuscript is their answer for America’s problems in the Founding tradition.

Red State Coalition (Vermont Not to be Excluded) was written by a few blue-collar friends who have grown a big chip on their collective shoulders. They don’t have advanced degrees or possess any special talents that would suggest that they might be so audacious as to write a book. They’re just really ticked off!

None of them make $250,000, the amount needed to have their taxes raised as promised by our current president, yet they all see their taxes being raised. If not on income, on fuel, on electricity, on health care, on cigarettes, on alcohol, a proposed national sales tax, etc.

While they see their hours being cut, their friends being laid off, and their small businesses shuttered, they see the government paying out trillions of dollars to Wall-Street millionaires and billionaires, to AIG, General Motors and to Chrysler.

They have seen their housing values plummet due to bad government policy which encouraged rank corruption in the mortgage industry. While CEOs friendly to politicians paid themselves hundreds of millions of dollars, their GSEs (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) went bankrupt only to be bailed out by the lowly taxpayer.

As Bernie Maddoff is sentenced to life in prison for masterminding a puny little Ponzi scheme, they wonder what government officials are going to prison for the massive Ponzi schemes called Social Security and Medicare.

In an effort to try to make sense of it all, they’ve studied the Constitution, they’ve debated American history, they’ve argued over the latest news stories and they have come to the conclusion that there is no sense to make.

The United States of America is a disaster and it’s not going to get fixed.

These guys have determined that “Citizen of United States” has become quite a dubious title.

They consider themselves Americans, in the tradition of Washington, Franklin and Jefferson, where government was designed with common sense to solve problems and benefit the people, not enslave them.
